I had the wonderful opportunity of sitting down with Lindsey McLaughlin for a second time. The vivacious and young model talked more about he career and her highlights of this fashion season thus far.
Brianna: Welcome back, Lindsey! It is so lovely to be interviewing you again. To start off, can you tell us about your social media? I’ve noticed a lot of fabulous new pictures as of late.
Lindsey: I just turned 25, I am getting old haha! My boyfriend planned an over night trip at the William Vale Hotel in Brooklyn. We ate dinner at an amazing Italian place, Misi—It was the greatest experience. My friends and family met us at a few bars in Brooklyn. This was one highlight of the new year and starting off my 25th year perfectly.
I have also been re-posting some photos from a summer photo shoot I did with imPRESS manicure. It was my favorite photo shoot since we were able to shoot on the beach and at Coney Island. The camera crew as well as the makeup artist were so much fun to be with during this shoot, we had a great day.
I have been exploring the Hamptons in some of my posts. I love the coffee/bakery shop out there called Sant Ambroeus. When my boyfriend and I adventure out there we usually go to my favorite clothing store, LF and then grab lunch at the Golden Pear. On the way home we always make a pit stop at the Wolfer Estate wine stand and grab a glass of my favorite wine.
Brianna: Incredible, it sounds like you have been having a great time! I think my favorite picture you have posted is from the imPRESS shoot you talked about. The color of what you were wearing and having Coney Island as the location I thought made for a really cool and popping shot. Even with your busy and exciting life you manage to keep yourself up exceptionally well. Especially during this frigid weather it can be very difficult to maintain yourself. Can you tell us what your winter regimen consists of?
Lindsey: It has been so cold! I have been very tired lately, but I try to stay occupied and feeling good. I just joined Orange Theory Fitness which has been making me feel amazing. I try to go early before work if not right after to squeeze in that workout. I came across a new skin routine that has been working for me. With the super cold weather my skin has been cracked and so dry- I have been using the daily microfoliant from Dermalogica at night to wipe off the dead skin and then moisturize with Baby Aveeno. In the mornings, I wipe off the oils on my face with lukewarm water only. I have seen a difference. During the winter it’s hard to follow a routine but I have been laying out my products and clothes the night before so I am ready for the morning. If it doesn’t take you longer than 5 minutes to complete, just get it done in that moment.
Brianna: It sounds like you are very regimented. I think it is amazing how you are able to stay so dedicated to your routine. I agree that, in the cold months especially, it becomes very hard to stay motivated to keep your skin in the best condition possible. Speaking of cold weather, I saw an absolutely stunning photo of you wearing ski goggles, can you tell us a little bit about that photo and what are some of your favorite winter sports?
Lindsey: That was actually from a photo shoot with imPRESS manicure. I was hand modeling the holiday/winter designs for the website. It was a lot of fun and we actually shot all of the photos on top of a roof, many of my followers thought I was at a ski resort.
I used to ski when I was younger and I loved it but stopped after a while. My favorite winter activity would be snow tubing, its so fun! Unfortunately, I didn’t have time this winter for any winter sports but, I am hoping to plan a nice cabin get away next winter season.
Brianna: You definitely could have fooled me, I thought you were somewhere in Aspen or Vail. I loved the shot and the imPRESS nails that you were wearing. Now, have there been any new endeavors that you’ve pursued in the last few months that you can share?
Lindsey: I have been focusing on my career at KISS products in the marketing department and look forward to more modeling gigs in the future. I plan to move in with my boyfriend next fall, we have been looking into potential places to live—in and around the city or Queens area. I will of course post about it when it is set and stone. For now, everything is in the planning phase but I am excited for what is to come.
Brianna: Oh my gosh, that is so exciting! I am very happy for you both and look forward to seeing the photos. You have so many gorgeous and interesting images on your Instagram, I feel like I am always seeing fresh and new posts of yours, how do you keep up your feed while being active and busy?
Lindsey: Thank you. Actually, I have been slacking a bit with my posts. I have been trying to post at least once a week during these busy times. I have a few planned trips coming up such as Ireland so I plan to post my adventures when I get there.
Whenever I go exploring I try to post my outfit and the location. My boyfriend is a pro at finding cute little spots/boutiques as well as amazing restaurants. As you can tell we like to eat and I like to shop. Ironically, he does not like social media and chooses not to be in my photos but he always helps me find the artsy locations to take pictures for my Insta page.
My best friend just got engaged and asked me to be a bridesmaid so I plan on capturing all those memories to share with my fans. She is going to make a beautiful bride and I am so happy to be a part of her special day.
Brianna: Wow, how extraordinarily exciting and fantastic! Ireland is somewhere I have always appreciated for its lush, green landscape. I love what you said about your outfits and how you love sharing them on social media. Lately, I have been really loving the outfits you have been wearing. Can you talk about your personal style, the stores you like to shop in, and where your inspiration for it comes from?
Lindsey: I am an online shopper lately! This cold has been keeping me locked in doors. I love Pretty Little Thing, Miss Guided and Oh Polly. When I shop on any of those sites, I feel like I never leave my shopping cart empty. I recently came across a cute website called Born to be Chic—I am obsessed! I have a lot of weddings coming up in the next few months and bought dresses, skirts, and jumpsuits from there.
I love the sweatpants and jean jacket look this season. I try to dress up the sweatpants with a trendy sneaker to make the comfy, casual look a little fancier.
Brianna: First of all, I love all of the stores that you mentioned. Oh Polly has become a favorite of mine lately as well. I can’t wait to see even more outfit pictures on your Instagram. So, what are some of your goals for the rest of this year?
Lindsey: I have been putting together a plan to start an online boutique. Lately, I have been gathering all my ideas and researching how to get started. My goal for 2019 is to hopefully get this up and running. I am open to ideas and hearing what my followers would want to see on my online boutique. My hope is to make it trendy and affordable.
Brianna: That is awesome, I will definitely be one of your first costumers when it opens. Lindsey, thank you so much for sitting down with us today, I look forward to seeing more of your phenomenal posts and future endeavors.
